The South Valley/Southwest region of Albuquerque is much different than the rest of the metro area.
The Rio Grande River Valley creates a green shape through the land making green pastures and abundant produce throughout the area. Much of the area maintains a rural feel with many of the homes being owned by families from generations past.
The far west boundary of this area is recently developed with many new subdivisions and new homes. Beyond this area, there is still much empty land and developers continue to move into this area. There's still a lot of land available, so Albuquerque will continue to grow in this direction for many years to come.
The southern boundary is held by the Indian Reservation called Isleta Pueblo. Here there is a Hard Rock Casino that was recently remodled and a gorgeous rolling golf course along the Rio Grande.
To search the South Valley, use the regions of "Near South Valley," "Southwest Heights," and "Valley Farms." These are the areas that make up what is known as the South Valley of Albuquerque.
