The Far Northeast area of Albuquerque is place of innovation. Much of Albuquerque's historic distric stems from the Old Town area, so much of the Northeast Area has a newer, more modern style. Many of the properties are placed on large pieces of land. As the boundary to the East are the Sandia Mountains, houses climb the foothills providing incredible views of the city and valley below. These areas hold some of Albuquerque's most valuable real estate properties.
The school district of this area hold the highest test scores and highest rated schools. There are also several private schools spread around the area including The Albuquerque Academy. This school provides an excellent education as well as much undeveloped land for walkers and joggers.
This area is known for its recreational opportunites of hiking, biking, spots for picknicking, golfing, tennis courts, and parks with playground equipment. This area backs right into trails for the Sandia Mountains. The world's longest tram, Sandia Peak Tramway, has easy access and provides an evening out for views at sunset, and a formal dinner at the peak.
